Shining Stars, Cherry Smiles, Happy Faces, and Preschool

This week has been the week leading up to Halloween, and all of the groups have been participating in crafts, as well as some fun games to get them in the mood for the 31st October. Shining Stars and Cherry Smiles also played some “colour sorting” games, “colour jump”, “pumpkin hop”, and other such movement activities that were aimed at them having fun, as well as exercising their knowledge of colours, numbers, and shapes.

The older two groups played the same games, but with a fair bit more difficulty and under timed pressure. The older groups also practiced their phonics with such games as “letter hunt”, “letter crawl”, and “phonics snowballs”.

The groups also participated in various levels of crafts, with some making jack o lanterns, bats, witches, and monsters while others have been helping with the decorations that will be visible next week.

Halloween is on Thursday, the 31st October. It would be great to see your children dressed up as something spooky, or in a favourite costume. There will be some special games that will be played throughout the day, so have them dress up and come to enjoy the day!
