Shining Stars

This week has been a bit of fun for the Shining Stars as they gear up for the upcoming “Fall Festival”! The group has been attempting to sing and dance to some classic kids’ songs, using their whole bodies to express themselves. While learning any lyrics is beyond them at this age, it has been a pleasure to see the children make an effort.

The letter E was also looked at, with a variety of games and songs that supported the letter learning

Cherry Smiles

The Cherry Smiles have been in the process of review of the first stage of their phonics learning. S, A, T, I, P, and N have been revised along with some great vocabulary associated with each letter. The class have also thoroughly enjoyed using the interactive whiteboard to practice letter formation, as well as play some logic games that should stimulate their brains.

The group has been rehearsing a couple of songs, a dance, and other snippets that they are excited to show to you at the “Fall Festival”

Happy Faces

As with Cherry Smiles, the Happy Faces have also been in the process of review for the Stage 1 Phonics program. On top of this, the group has been learning the names of common classroom objects, features, and areas. Games to reinforce said learning have been played and enjoyed, particularly a sensory game that involved the children being blindfolded and asked to identify a classroom object by touch alone.

Preschool

This week has been full of singing, dancing, and poetry in the lead up to the “Fall Festival”. The oldest group are quite confident in their skins, and it is great to see them make an effort with their lessons.

Topics that have been looked at this week has been quite varied. Due to a rather intense rehearsal schedule, the group were given the freedom to choose what they wished to learn, and each day they have looked at dinosaurs, bacteria, the arctic, and more. Again, entertaining their imaginations and interests is key to their growth.
